This idea did not work to plan and I don't think it will be developed past this point. The reason we believe it failed was because it was too complex to grasp the story line and the Science Fiction aspect of it was not within our budget. To add to this, it turned out to be more of a comedy than a psychological Science Fiction which we had hoped it would be. For this reason, I feel that we will go with our first narration.
Character
Dad- The protagonist of the film, whose downfall lies with the sighting of the alien ship.
Mum- A somewhat younger age to her husband. Her appearances makes it difficult to make anyone believe her sighting , however she is a caring mother.
Daughter- The rebellious teen takes over the role of the protagonist when the adults are no longer capable of taking this role.
Plot
- The Dad and Daughter are arguing over the fact that she has had sex with her boyfriend, despite being underage.
- The fight is interrupted by a sudden shudder of the house which knocks over various objects.
- Greeted by the strange echo noises outside, the family go to inspect only to be illuminated by a bright light in the sky.(a UFO)
- After numerous attempts for the family to publicise their sighting and failing when even the police think it's a prank, they all decide to continue life as though it never happened.
- Everyone slowly regains their life except the dad who becomes obsessive with the UFO to the point of madness.
- One night he has a dream that the aliens take over his wife's body and is convinced to kill her.
- The daughter sees the events of her mother's murder and decides to kill her own father in retaliation.
- The film ends with her walking away with bloody clothes and the light from the UFO in the distance.
